WHY WORK DOES NOT HAPPENS AT WORK
"If there are 10 people in a 1h meeting it's not a 1h meeting. It's 10h of productivity taken out of the organization, for a talk that sould probably have been handled by two or three people talking together for a few minutes."
"Employees are attending up to 62 meetings per month, half of which are considered a waste of time. [..]That’s a recipe for frustration: a stop-start workday in which you never have the opportunity to take the time to focus on complex work."
LET ME WORK, PLEASE
65% OF MEETINGS LASTS MORE THAN ONE HOUR
"It probably derives from the fact that 30 and 60 minutes are the time blocks selectable on calendaring apps. Parkinson’s law claims that work expands to fill the amount of time allotted to it. So, if 60 minutes are allotted to a meeting, that’s probably how long you’ll be there."
SCHEDULING A MEETING FEELS LIKE YOU'RE MAKING PROGRESS
In the United States, 11 million meetings are organized every day. 63% of those meetings don’t have an agenda, and 45% are informational staff meetings.
"Is your workday packed with unproductive meetings? Time spent together is not always time spent getting work done."

MEASURE AND SHOW THE COST OF EACH DECISION
Because Time Is Money, and money is a common and recognized tool to measure usefullness, we created Tim. Tim is a timer for money (€/$) spend in meeting. Put it on the table or hide it, start it at the begining of the meeting and stop it at the end. You can then show what was the price of this decision taken or information given, and choose wether it's worth it or not for next time.
HOW IT WORKS
SETUP THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN THE MEETING
Before the meeting, on the back of the counter, there is a knob that lets you adjust the number of people in the room.
The counter will show you the amount that you're adjusting. You can change this amount by pausing the counter and adjusting during the meeting.
Before the meeting, on the back of the counter, there is a knob that lets you adjust average cost of people in the room.
Be carefull, we're not speaking of their salary, we're speaking of their cost for the company. That's usually a salary x2. Just do a guess, no need to be precise.
SETUP THE AVERAGE COST OF PEOPLE IN THE MEETING
On the top of the Tim Counter, there is a "start/pause" button. Click on it once to start the calculation and look at the screen in Live the USD/EUR being spent !
You can pause the counter for the breaks, and restart it when coming back.
